This approach collects archival projects, that are somehow committed to make a difference in established power-structures, to be subversive, otherwise, queer. Descriptions should entail information on how this commitment is thought, practiced, translated into actions and structures.
While there is a complicity of conventional archives with structures of domination and oppression, this approach deals with counter-projects to this. In all kinds of situations, people decide to create archives that are intended to counteract domination. Often (but not always) they document the histories of marginalized groups or histories of resistance. Sometimes they adopt archival practices and aesthetics as perfectly as possible, sometimes they criticize them or try to implement counter-designs.
This approach deals with such «counter-archives» that attempt in some way to change established power structures, to act subversively, differently, queerly. This happens in different ways:
