v.0.1
A speculative Method based on Saidya Hartmans Method of Critical Fabulation. Focusing on relational aspects between a writing body and a historical figure written about, Analytical Fabulation may serve as a preparatory method for a critical fabulation or for another approach.
The Primary goal is understanding better
a) the concrete conditions that invoke the desire for a critical fabulation.
b) the threads spun by affections (desire, fear, anger, solidarity, etc, etc) that build the connective tissue between the writing body, the historical figure written about and any other figure involved.
The method entails writing short pieces of fiction about the central figure(s) that can be very speculative, more speculative than would be advisable for critical fabulation. Important is, that it “makes sense” or “feels right”, or also feels intensely uncomfortable to you what you write about your figure. Register these feelings alongside the writing.
In a next step, the writing body and its mentors analyse the fiction produced as a projection of a specific historical constellation.

The fiction produced in step one is not for publication. It is a projection of an asymmetrical relationship across time and requires further mediation.
